JULIAN STOCKWIN was sent to Indefatigable
- a tough sea-training school - at the age of fourteen, and joined
the Royal Navy at fifteen. He transferred to the Royal Australian
Navy and saw service in the Far East, the Antarctic and the South
Seas before serving on a carrier task force in Vietnam. After leaving
the Navy he lived for some time in Hong Kong, where he was commissioned
into the Royal Navy Reserve. He was awarded the MBE and retired with
the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Julian now lives in Devon with his wife, Kathy.
