'Dan Starkey is back in another rollercoaster ride - this time taking on the almighty himself. The picturesque and peaceful Island of Wrathlin doesn't know what's in store for it when religion takes a grip...needless to say the events are bizarre and unthinkable. A great plotline makes this difficult to put down as another Bateman storyline takes you from extreme hilarity to violence and inevitable mayhem. Indeed I began reading this yesterday but am now looking for the next Bateman to accompany me on my trip to Wrathlin Island. Simply very funny - I'm off to find Divorcing Jack and other Bateman's I have not yet had the pleasure of.'

'Colin Bateman has done it again. This is one of those books that will bring every emotion within, to the surface. Starting off as what seems to be a surreal comedy, Bateman's twists and turns will see you take many a long trip to the toilets just for an excuse to carry on reading.'

'Dan Starkey is an amusing character, the sort of man you could spend a weekend with and wonder where the time went but are so very glad he's married to someone else. Any drinker will recognise Dan's incessant fear of being unable to obtain alcohol and the amusing and frightening problems it causes.'
